LGBTQIA Counseling
Inside or outside the binary, let’s discover what is true for you. Whether you are exploring gender or sexuality, we can help you navigate.
Mel Day MA, LPC (they/them) is a devoted therapist with a deep understanding of the complexities of the human experience. As someone who identifies as a Neurodivergent and Queer Femme, Mel has personally navigated the path to self-compassion and liberation. Now, they are committed to helping others do the same.
Mel’s own journey to seek help and undergo treatment was a catalyst for their career in counseling and psychological services. They understand the unique challenges faced by those who have been forced to conceal their true identities.
Specializing in Neurodivergent and LGBTQ-affirmative psychotherapy, Mel works towards fostering clients’ self-worth and trust. By encouraging clients to rediscover their authentic selves, Mel empowers them to lead happier, more fulfilled lives. Using deep listening, empathetic conversations, and evidence-based practices, Mel helps individuals tap into their inner sources of strength.
At the core of Mel’s passion for supporting Neurodivergent and Queer Folks on their journey towards liberation is the belief that, despite our differences, essential needs for belonging, connection, and meaningful relationships drive us all.
Bobby (they/them) is a passionate and empathetic MSW Year 1 clinical intern at Saint Cloud State University. As a Queer Non-Binary person themself, Bobby is dedicated to challenging traditional gender norms and expectations. Their mission is to create a therapeutic space that cultivates authenticity, allowing clients to explore and embrace their true selves. Bobby specializes in helping clients navigate the challenges of anxiety, depression, family dynamics, religious trauma, and the search for community.
Bobby focuses on gender-affirming care and the vital connection between the brain and body. They are interested in utilizing a range of therapeutic modalities, such as Compassion Mindfulness Therapy (CMT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Socratic Questioning (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Polyvagal Theory. Their goal is to empower each client to build resilience and reclaim control over their own journey.
As part of their internship, Bobby will be offering a weekly support group for Trans and Non-binary folks starting in January 2024.
